Questions for You
Are you directionally challenged? Not sure? There are some things that are dead giveaways. For example, if you’re told that something is to your right or left and you have to really think about which side is your right or left, your directionally challenged. The directionally oriented will turn to the right or left without thinking about it. Here are some other questions for you:
- What is your dominant hand? (The hand you use to do most things)
- Do you think that you are a natural left-hander/right-hander?
- Did you change hand-dominance, (using one hand to do most things, especially to write)?
- If you did, when did you change? What caused you to change?
- If you did, describe the process. How do you currently distribute activities between your hands – are you mainly right-handed, mainly left-handed, or do you use both hands equally?
- If someone tells you to point or move to their left or right, do you automatically know what to do, or do you have to think about it for a while?

THERE ARE STEPS YOU CAN TAKE TO GET AHEAD
FINDING FOCUS IN A WORLD OF DISTRACTIONS
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel pulled in every direction. Endless notifications, busy schedules, and the constant hum of modern life can make it challenging to stay present and focused. For many, these distractions create a sense of restlessness, making it difficult to connect with deeper goals or experience inner peace. Being uncertain of which path to take - literally or figuratively - can also be distressing. If you have difficulty navigating from one physical location to another, that is by itself, a great deal to deal with. If you find yourself sometimes disoriented, and distracted, know that you’re not alone—and that there is a path forward.
Distraction often arises when the mind is overstimulated and the heart feels disconnected from what truly matters. Guided strategies can help you break free from this cycle by teaching you how to quiet the noise, refocus your energy, and tune into what’s meaningful. Practices like mindfulness, meditation, and intentional breathing are powerful tools that help anchor your thoughts and bring you clarity to navigate your daily life. Together, let us forge pathways, identify and access resources, and create programs and techniques, to overcome distractions and feelings of frustration. Let us develop lasting habits of focus and presence. We can explore processes to retrain our minds and re-orientate our thinking. In this way, we’ll be able to identify and reduce or eliminate the obstacles that will delay our progress. Through our collective efforts, we will forge the strength and determination to attain or reclaim our navigational cognition and spatial orientation.
Many of us cannot readily identify directions. If we think we're pointing towards the north, someone may correct us and say, "That's the south." If we're told something is to our left, someone may say, "No. That's to your right." We may feel embarrassed because it takes "forever" for us to navigate from one point to another. But there is a way forward. Let us find it together.
